Hrvatska udruga likovnih umjetnika primijenjenih umjetnosti is the central
professional and trade association of applied arts artists in Croatia, based in
Zagreb, operating in the fields of design, arts and crafts, and contemporary
art practices. ULUPUH members are presenting themselves at the exhibition in
Slovenia with a curated exhibition that offers a thoughtful selection of
contemporary artistic jewelry and other applied expressions and reflects the
diversity of approaches, high level of authorship, and continuity of Croatian
contemporary applied arts in the international arena.
𝗦𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗔 𝗞𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗜Ć, 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮: 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.
Sabina Kolonić breaks down the entire form of a brooch into a composition of
three brooches titled Deconstruction of Style. Perception of Nature.
Brooch/Vase/Installation. In the original form, deconstruction of nature first
occurs through the transformation of a picked twig, which is sharply cut off
from its environment (garden, forest, park) and reduced to a simplified form,
which develops into a brooch/vase and finally into a wall installation. In the
second and third brooch, the volume of the brooch/vase is deconstructed (and
thus the artistic style) into simpler forms, leading to a set of smaller
brooches that can be arranged into the original or completely new visual
compositions.
